I never used to take pictures of people because I didn’t really like a lot of portrait images, but then I realised I had missed the point. It’s not just a picture of a person or a family, it’s how they feel, their character, their essence, all captured in one image. So any portraits I do are natural, not posed, and I really try and understand and know that person, or family.

Pet portraits are the same to a point, it’s all about understanding the personality of the pet and reflecting that in the image.
